Eltham, New Zealand
Eltham is the second largest town in Taranaki, home to Victorian buildings and a “town of firsts.” Historically the town has deep industrial and dairy roots, with the first butter exports being shipped from Eltham to England in 1884, and it was the first town in New Zealand to acquire a tar-sealed street in 1906. Eltham is home to many beautiful garden and bush master pieces including Lake Rotokare, New Zealand’s longest man-made lake. Lake Rotokare and its surrounding reserve area has been described as a Taranaki jewel, an important biological hotspot in the region.

Geographically, Eltham is five hours drive from Auckland and three and a half hours from the nation’s capital city, Wellington. The slow pace of the town and the natural wonders Eltham contains provide a truly millennial setting for the Feast of Tabernacles 2022. This site has been home to many LYP camps in New Zealand and is now a first for the Feast of Tabernacles.

The Feast meeting venue itself is in spectacular surroundings that include a private beach on Waigongoro River and a magnificent escarpment that completes a natural border for the property. The stunning Mount Taranaki overlooks the campsite and can be seen clearly from most areas of the venue. One can really feel at peace in the world due to the sanctuary-like effect this site provides. Thus, the complete package of this Feast site strongly supports coming out of the world and focusing on our vital calling and God’s great plan and purpose during the Feast.
