Ukerewe, Tanzania
The Feast of Tabernacles this year will be held at a resort in Ukerewe district.
Ukerewe is the fifth-largest lake island in the world with an area of 530 km (200 square miles). It is also the largest island in Lake Victoria, as well as the largest island in Africa.
The resort is one kilometer from the Ferry Terminal to the west. From the resort one can take a motorbike to a village located under the banana and orange trees; you can also go to the Halwe Viewpoint, the highest point on the island with rocks and caves. From the rondo viewpoint, you will be able to view Mwanza city in Tanzania, Entebbe in Uganda, and Nairobi in Kenya.
The shoreline of Ukerewe Island is carved into numerous bays, and it is surrounded by 38 small islands surrounding the neighborhood, three of them unoccupied by humans and the other thirty-five occupied by fishermen and their families. Some of the activities will include introductions to local fishing, canoeing, biking, and village tours.
A few other sites include agricultural activities in which the residents farm maize, sweet potatoes, millet, cassava, and rice.
